# Create a Gemini EU Key

Create a Google Vertex AI key for EU processing and connect it to DigiParser

Use this guide when your DigiParser workspace is hosted in the European Union and you want to use your own Gemini account.

You need a Google Cloud project ID and a Vertex AI authorization key. DigiParser sends requests through Google's EU endpoint when you select **European Union (EU)**.

## [Prepare a Google Cloud project](#1-prepare-a-google-cloud-project)

1.  Open [Google Cloud Console](https://console.cloud.google.com/).
2.  Create or select a project.
3.  Add a billing account to the project.
4.  Enable the **Agent Platform API**.

Copy the **Project ID**. You will enter it in DigiParser.

## [Create a service account](#2-create-a-service-account)

1.  Open **IAM & Admin -> Service Accounts**.
2.  Click **Create service account**.
3.  Enter a name such as `digiparser-eu`.
4.  Give the service account the **Agent Platform User** role.
5.  Finish the setup.

## [Create the authorization key](#3-create-the-authorization-key)

1.  Open **APIs & Services -> Credentials**.
2.  Click **Create credentials -> API key**.
3.  Turn on **Authenticate API calls through a service account**.
4.  Select the service account you created.
5.  Restrict the key to the **Agent Platform API**.
6.  Click **Create** and copy the key.

Copy the key and keep it private.

## [Connect the key to DigiParser](#4-connect-the-key-to-digiparser)

1.  Open **Team Settings -> BYOK/BYOS**.
2.  Turn on **Enable** under **Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)**.
3.  Select **Gemini** as the AI provider.
4.  Under **Gemini region**, select **European Union (EU)**.
5.  Enter the Google Cloud **Project ID**.
6.  Paste the **Vertex AI authorization key**.
7.  Select a model and click **Save configuration**.

DigiParser tests the key through the EU endpoint before it saves the configuration. Use **Test key** after you change permissions in Google Cloud.

*   The Agent Platform API is enabled.
*   The key is connected to the correct service account.
*   The service account has the Agent Platform User role.
*   The Project ID in DigiParser matches the project that owns the key.
