# [Set Up Two-Factor Authentication](#set-up-two-factor-authentication)

Feedback

Two-factor authentication adds a verification code after your normal sign-in. Set it up once, save the recovery codes, and use your authenticator app when DigiParser asks for a code.

Feedback

Before you begin, install an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, 1Password, or Authy on a device you can access.

## [Open Security settings](#1-open-security-settings)

1. Open your account menu.
2. Click **Profile settings**.
3. Open the **Security** tab.
4. Find **Two-factor authentication** and click **Set up**.

## [Confirm it is you](#2-confirm-it-is-you)

DigiParser asks you to confirm your sign-in before showing the setup code.

* For password sign-in, enter your current password and click **Confirm with password**.
* For Google sign-in, click **Continue with Google** and complete the prompt.

After confirmation, DigiParser returns you to the two-factor authentication setup.

## [Connect your authenticator app](#3-connect-your-authenticator-app)

1. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
2. If you cannot scan it, enter the setup key shown below the QR code.
3. Enter the current **Six-digit authentication code** from the app.
4. Click **Enable two-factor authentication**.

## [Save your recovery codes](#4-save-your-recovery-codes)

Recovery codes let you sign in if you lose access to your authenticator app. Each code works once, and DigiParser will not show this set again.

1. Click **Copy codes** or **Download as text**.
2. Store the codes somewhere secure and separate from your authenticator device.
3. Select **I saved these recovery codes in a safe place**.
4. Click **Done**.

Two-factor authentication now shows **Enabled** on the Security page.

After your normal sign-in:

Feedback

2. Enter the current **Six-digit authentication code**.
3. Click **Verify**.

Feedback

## [Replace your recovery codes](#replace-your-recovery-codes)

Feedback

Generate a new set if you used several codes or believe someone else may have seen them.

Feedback

1. Open **Profile settings -> Security**.
2. Click **Manage** beside **Two-factor authentication**.
3. Click **Generate new codes**.
4. Enter your **Current authentication code**.
5. Click **Generate new codes** again and save the new set.

Feedback

Your previous recovery codes stop working immediately.

## [Disable two-factor authentication](#disable-two-factor-authentication)

Feedback

1. Open **Profile settings -> Security**.
2. Click **Manage**.
3. Click **Disable two-factor authentication**.
4. Enter an **Authentication or recovery code**.

Feedback

Disabling it removes the authenticator connection and invalidates all recovery codes.

## [If you lose access](#if-you-lose-access)

Feedback

* Use **Use a recovery code instead** if you have a saved code.
* After signing in, generate new recovery codes and reconnect your authenticator if needed.
