Set this up once so new invoice, receipt, or other document emails go to DigiParser automatically.

## [Copy the DigiParser address](#1-copy-the-digiparser-address)

Open the destination parser or folder and copy its email address.

Use a [folder address](/docs/guides/document-processing/email/which-email-address) when matching documents should go directly into a client or project folder.

## [Add the address in Gmail](#2-add-the-address-in-gmail)

On a computer, open the Gmail account that receives the document emails. Gmail sets up forwarding for one address at a time, not for a group or alias.

1.  Click **Settings -> See all settings**.
2.  Open **Forwarding and POP/IMAP**.
3.  Click **Add a forwarding address**.
4.  Paste the DigiParser address.
5.  Click **Next -> Proceed -> OK**.

Gmail now sends a confirmation message to the DigiParser address.

Open the parser's **Document Inbox**. Open the Gmail confirmation email and click its verification link.

If the confirmation email does not appear:

*   Open **Settings -> Parser Settings -> Email** and turn on **Parse email body if no attachments exist**.
*   If the parser accepts only listed senders, temporarily allow the Google confirmation sender.
*   In Gmail, remove the unconfirmed address and add it again.

Return to **Forwarding and POP/IMAP** in Gmail and refresh the page. The DigiParser address is now available for forwarding.

Choose one of these options:

*   **Forward every new email:** Select **Forward a copy of incoming mail to**, choose the DigiParser address, keep Gmail's copy in the inbox, and click **Save Changes**.
*   **Forward only selected emails:** Leave general forwarding disabled and create a Gmail filter instead.

Forwarding every message can send unrelated attachments to DigiParser. A focused filter is usually the better choice.

In Gmail's search box, click **Show search options** and enter a condition such as:

*   A supplier's email address
*   "Invoice" or "receipt" in the subject
*   **Has attachment**

Check the search results, then click **Create filter**. Select **Forward it to**, choose the DigiParser address, and click **Create filter** again.

## [Test the automation](#6-test-the-automation)

Send or receive one new message that matches the filter. Confirm that its attachment appears in the correct DigiParser parser or folder.

Gmail applies the forwarding rule to new messages. Manually forward an older email when you also want to import it.
