# [Importing from Google Drive](#importing-from-google-drive)

Feedback

Connect Google Drive to a parser so new files added to a selected folder become DigiParser documents automatically. You can monitor a folder in **My Drive** or an accessible **Shared Drive**.

## [Before you start](#before-you-start)

Feedback

You need a Google account and a parser with the fields you want to extract. Your Google Workspace permissions determine which Shared Drives and folders DigiParser can show.

Feedback

DigiParser starts checking from the moment you save the configuration. Files already in the selected folder are not imported.

## [Add Google Drive](#1-add-google-drive)

1. Open your parser and go to **Settings -> Integrations**.
2. Under **Import sources**, find **Import from Google Drive**.
3. Click **Add**.
4. Expand **Import from Google Drive** under **Added integrations**.

## [Connect your account](#2-connect-your-account)

1. Click **Connect Google Drive**.
2. Select the Google account that contains the folder.
3. Review the requested access and approve the connection.
4. Return to DigiParser and select the connected account if it is not already selected.

Click **Connect another account** if you need to use a different Google account. One selected account, drive, and folder are monitored by this parser at a time.

## [Select a drive and folder](#3-select-a-drive-and-folder)

1. Under **Select a drive**, choose **My Drive** or an accessible Shared Drive.
2. Open folders in the DigiParser folder browser until you reach the folder you want to monitor.
3. Click **Select this folder**.
4. Confirm that the selected location appears below the browser.

Turn on **Include subfolders** to also import new files added inside nested folders. Leave it off to monitor only files added directly to the selected folder.

## [Test and save](#4-test-and-save)

1. Click **Test folder access**.
2. Confirm that DigiParser says the folder is accessible.
3. Click **Save configuration**.
4. Confirm that **Monitoring active** appears beside **Import from Google Drive**.

## [Add a new file](#5-add-a-new-file)

Upload, create, or move a new supported file into the selected Google Drive folder. DigiParser checks Google Drive every minute, so the file normally appears in the parser's **Document Inbox** within one or two minutes.

Google Docs, Slides, and Drawings are imported as PDF files. Google Sheets are imported as XLSX files. Google Forms, Google Maps, and Drive shortcuts are skipped.

The source file remains in Google Drive. DigiParser imports each Drive file once, so renaming, editing, or moving an imported file does not create another DigiParser document.

## [Supported files and limits](#supported-files-and-limits)

Feedback

The integration imports supported downloadable files up to 100 MB. Empty files and unsupported formats are skipped. See [Supported Files and Processing Limits](/docs/guides/document-processing/supported-files-and-limits#connected-cloud-storage) for the complete list.

## [If files do not arrive](#if-files-do-not-arrive)

Feedback

* Confirm that **Monitoring active** is shown. **Monitoring delayed** means DigiParser will check Google Drive again automatically.
* Confirm that the file was added after you saved the configuration.
* Confirm that the correct **My Drive** or Shared Drive is selected.
* Check whether **Include subfolders** matches where the file was added.
* Click **Test folder access** to confirm the connected account can still open the folder.
* If you see **Needs reconnection**, click **Reconnect** and approve access again.
* If you see **Folder unavailable** or **Monitoring failed**, correct the folder access and click **Restart**.

Feedback

Changing the account, drive, folder, or **Include subfolders** setting starts monitoring from Google Drive's current state. Files already present in the new scope are not imported.
