# [Reprocess Documents](#reprocess-documents)

Feedback

Reprocessing runs the original document through the parser again using its current fields and settings.

Feedback

Use it when you changed the parser or when a temporary problem prevented extraction from finishing correctly.

## [When to reprocess](#when-to-reprocess)

Feedback

Reprocess a document after:

Feedback

* Adding, removing, or renaming fields
* Changing a field description or type
*   Changing table columns
* Correcting document-type, password, split, or extraction settings
*   Adding credits after a credit-related failure
* Fixing a temporary processing problem

Feedback

Do not reprocess only to correct one extracted value. Edit that value directly instead.

## [What reprocessing changes](#what-reprocessing-changes)

Feedback

* DigiParser keeps the original uploaded file.
* Existing extracted values are replaced with a new extraction.
* The document moves through **Queued** and **Processing** again.
* You should review the result again.
* Processing consumes credits based on the document and the parser options currently enabled.
* If Markdown parsing is enabled and a valid Markdown file already exists, DigiParser reuses it. The extra Markdown credit still applies. DigiParser creates the file again if the stored object is missing.

Feedback

See [Credits and Billing](/docs/guides/troubleshooting/credits-and-billing) to calculate the new charge before reprocessing a large batch.

Feedback

If exports or approvals are configured, treat the reprocessed result as a new result that needs to complete the required workflow.

Feedback

The action may not be available while a document is **Uploading**, **Queued**, or actively **Processing**.

## [Reprocess several documents](#reprocess-several-documents)

Feedback

1. In the document list, select the documents with their checkboxes.
2.  Open **Bulk Actions**.
3.  Click **Reprocess**.
4. Wait for the selected documents to complete.

Feedback

Documents that are still Uploading, Queued, or Processing are skipped.

## [If reprocessing does not help](#if-reprocessing-does-not-help)

Feedback

* Open the document and read the failure or skipped reason.
* Confirm that the file itself opens correctly.
*   Check available credits.
* Check password rules for protected PDFs.
* Check document-type rules and classifier routes.
* Try one known-good file in the same parser to determine whether the problem is the file or the parser setup.

Feedback

See [Processing Failures](/docs/guides/troubleshooting/processing-failures) for more help.
