## [Document retention](#document-retention)

Feedback

You can control how long DigiParser keeps documents in each parser. Choose **Keep forever** to retain documents until you delete them, or **Auto-delete after** to set a retention period. The minimum period is one day.

Feedback

Automatic deletion applies to every document in the parser, including failed documents and documents still in processing. For finished documents, the period starts when processing finishes. For unfinished documents, it starts when the document was uploaded.

Feedback

See the [Document Retention guide](/docs/guides/parsers/parser-settings/document-retention) for setup instructions.

## [Deleting documents and account data](#deleting-documents-and-account-data)

Feedback

Document deletion permanently removes the document and its stored files from the active service. Export or download anything you need before deleting documents or shortening a retention period.

Feedback

You can request deletion of your personal data or account data at any time by contacting [\[email protected\]](/cdn-cgi/l/email-protection#1b6b69726d7a78625b7f727c726b7a69687e6935787476). Account deletion is handled under our retention policies and applicable legal requirements.

Feedback

Subscription cancellation and account deletion are separate actions. If you want your account data deleted when you stop using DigiParser, submit a deletion request.

## [Backups and other records](#backups-and-other-records)

Feedback

Deletion from the active service does not mean that all backup copies are removed at the same time. Backups are retained for a limited period, typically **30-90 days**, for disaster recovery. They are encrypted and remain in your selected region.

Feedback

Some records, such as billing records, may be retained longer to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. Document retention settings do not set the retention period for these records or for service logs and backups.

Feedback

If you export data to another service, deletion in DigiParser does not delete that separate copy. Manage those copies with the destination service.

## [Regional storage and enterprise requirements](#regional-storage-and-enterprise-requirements)

Feedback

Retention and deletion do not change your data's regional boundary. See [EU Data Residency](/docs/legal/eu-data-residency) or [US Data Residency](/docs/legal/us-data-residency).

Feedback

For specific retention or deletion requirements, contact us before processing your documents. Enterprise terms can be reviewed as part of your agreement.

Feedback

For the broader rules on personal data, see our [Privacy Policy](/docs/legal/privacy-policy) and [Data Processing Agreement](/docs/legal/data-processing-agreement).
