Dropbox integration

# A folder for incoming files.
An archive for finished work.

Use Dropbox as a document source and an original-file destination. Configure import and export separately so incoming documents and completed archives stay organized.

## Give incoming statements and processed files their own folders.

Use Dropbox for document intake and for storing processed originals. Configure import and export separately to match your folder structure.

1. 1Select the folder that receives statements.
2. 2Extract the transaction data in DigiParser.
3. 3Export the original files to the destination folder.

Import - new files only

1. 01Dropbox intake folder
2. 02DigiParser document
3. 03Extracted fields and tables

Export - original file

1. 01Processing or final approval
2. 02Configured filename
3. 03Dropbox archive folder

## Watch a folder, including its subfolders when needed

1. 01

    ### Connect Dropbox import

In the parser's Integrations page, add Import from Dropbox. Connect the account that can open the intake folder.

2. 02

    ### Choose the import folder

Browse to the folder and click Select this folder. Enable Include subfolders if nested client or supplier folders belong to the same parser.

3. 03

    ### Test and start monitoring

Click Test folder access, save, and confirm Monitoring active.

4. 04

    ### Add a new document

Upload or move a supported file into the folder after saving. DigiParser checks every minute; it normally arrives within one or two minutes.

Existing files are not imported when monitoring starts. Each Dropbox file is imported once, so renaming, editing, or moving an imported file does not create another document. The source remains in Dropbox.

## Archive the original with a name you control

Add **Export to Dropbox** separately. Connect an account, select a destination folder, and test access. Keep the archive outside your import scope.

processed-{{original\_filename}}

Keep the default token to retain the original name, or add literal text. Invalid filenames are rejected.

Dropbox destination behavior

Replace existing file

When a filename already exists

Off

Dropbox adds a number to preserve the existing file

On

Overwrites the exact destination path

The export sends the original document, up to 100 MB. It waits for final approval when review stages apply. A successful export is not automatically repeated on reprocessing.

## A practical bookkeeping folder structure

### Example - client document collection

Incoming statements / client folders

DigiParser / extract transactions and review

Processed originals / separate archive destination

Use a separate Google Sheets, Excel, email, or API workflow for the structured transaction data. Dropbox export archives the source document.

## Files missing from the inbox?

The folder already had documents when I connected it.

Monitoring begins from the saved configuration's current state. Add a new supported file to test it.

The file is inside a subfolder.

Enable Include subfolders if that folder should be in scope. Changing the scope begins monitoring from the new current state.

A cloud placeholder is not importing.

Dropbox cloud placeholders, empty files, and unsupported formats are skipped. Use a supported downloadable document up to 100 MB.
