Exporting to Xero
Export extracted data to Xero accounting
Exporting to Xero
You can send your extracted data to Xero automatically as Bills, Purchase Orders, or Credit Notes. When a document is processed, DigiParser creates the right type in Xero using your field mapping (regular fields and line items).
Where to set it up
- Open your parser and go to Settings → Integrations.
- Under Available Integrations, click Xero.
- It appears under Added Integrations. Expand it to configure.
How to configure
Connect your Xero account
Click Connect to Xero and sign in. Authorize DigiParser to access your Xero organization. Once connected, you’ll see Connected to Xero.
Select your organization
If you have more than one Xero organization, choose the one you want to export to.
Choose the export type
Pick what you want to create in Xero:
- Bills – Accounts payable (e.g. supplier invoices).
- Purchase Orders – POs you send to suppliers.
- Credit Notes – Credit notes or refunds.
Use the type that matches your documents (e.g. Bills for invoices).
Map fields and line items
- Regular fields – Map parser fields (e.g. Invoice Number, Supplier Name, Total, Date) to the Xero fields for that type. Required fields are marked.
- Line items – If your documents have line items (e.g. description, quantity, unit price, total), map your table columns to Xero line item fields.
Save your mapping when done.
Save
Click Save Configuration. When a document is processed, DigiParser creates a Bill, Purchase Order, or Credit Note in Xero using the mapped data.
When data is sent
Data is sent when a document is processed (after extraction). Each processed document becomes one Bill, PO, or Credit Note in Xero.
If you use Reviews & Approvals and a reviewer is assigned, exports wait until the document is approved. If no reviewer is assigned, exports run immediately after processing.
Tips
- Use Fields & Tables so you have the right fields (and a table for line items) before mapping.
- Bills are typical for invoices; Purchase Orders for POs; Credit Notes for credits.
- Keep field names and mapping in sync if you change your parser schema.
Troubleshooting
- “Please connect your Xero account first” – Connect (or reconnect) your Xero account.
- Missing or wrong data in Xero – Check field mapping and line item mapping. Ensure required Xero fields are mapped.
