Pause, resume, or delete parsers

Managing Parsers

You can pause, resume, or delete parsers from Parser Settings → Danger Zone.

Where to find it

  1. Open your parser and go to Settings → Parser Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Danger Zone section at the bottom.

Pausing a parser

When you pause a parser, it stops processing new documents. Existing processed documents remain accessible.

When to pause:

  • Temporarily stop processing (e.g. during maintenance, when testing changes)
  • Prevent new uploads from being processed
  • Save credits if you're not actively using the parser

What happens:

  • New documents are not processed (they stay in "Processing" status)
  • Existing documents remain accessible
  • Email processing stops (emails are received but not processed)
  • API uploads are received but not processed

To pause: Click Pause Parser in the Danger Zone and confirm.

Resuming a parser

When you resume a paused parser, it starts processing documents again.

What happens:

  • Pending documents (that were uploaded while paused) start processing
  • New uploads are processed normally
  • Email processing resumes
  • API uploads are processed normally

To resume: Click Resume Parser in the Danger Zone and confirm.

Deleting a parser

Deleting a parser permanently removes it and all its data:

  • All documents
  • All extracted data
  • Field configurations
  • Settings and integrations

This action cannot be undone.

When to delete:

  • You no longer need the parser
  • You're cleaning up old or test parsers
  • You want to start fresh with a new parser

Before deleting:

  • Export data you want to keep (if any)
  • Export schema if you want to reuse the field setup
  • Make sure you really want to delete it

To delete: Click Delete Parser in the Danger Zone, read the warning, and confirm.

Tips

  • Pause instead of delete: If you might need the parser later, pause it instead of deleting
  • Backup before delete: Export data and schema before deleting if you might need them
  • Check dependencies: Make sure no integrations or workflows depend on the parser before deleting
