## [Connect a mailbox or forward messages?](#connect-a-mailbox-or-forward-messages)

Feedback

* **Connect Gmail or Outlook** when you want DigiParser to monitor one selected mailbox. You can filter senders and import attachments, the email body, or both.
* **Forward to a DigiParser address** when people or mail rules should send documents to a parser, folder, or document classifier.

Feedback

Connecting a mailbox imports new messages into the selected parser. Forwarding lets you choose a parser, folder, or classifier address for each message or rule.

## [Copy the DigiParser email address](#1-copy-the-digiparser-email-address)

Open the parser's **Document Inbox** and copy the email address shown near the top.

## [Forward the document](#2-forward-the-document)

Open the message in your email app, click **Forward**, and paste the DigiParser address into **To**. Make sure the original document is still attached, then click **Send**.

## [Check the result](#3-check-the-result)

Return to DigiParser. The attachment appears in the **Document Inbox** and starts processing.

When processing finishes, open the document and check the extracted data.

## [View the received email](#view-the-received-email)

Feedback

When an email snapshot is available, the document viewer includes an **Email** tab next to the attachment. Open it to check the subject, sender, recipients, date, and message body without returning to your email app.

## [Sending somewhere more specific](#sending-somewhere-more-specific)

Feedback

* Use the **parser address** for one document type.
* Use a **folder address** to place documents directly in a client or project folder.
* Use a **classifier address** when emails may contain different document types.

Feedback

See [Choose the Right DigiParser Email Address](/docs/guides/document-processing/email/which-email-address) when you need one of these workflows.

## [Need more control?](#need-more-control)

Feedback

For a connected mailbox, configure **Sender access** and **Email content** inside [Import from Gmail](/docs/guides/integrations/importing-from-gmail) or [Import from Outlook](/docs/guides/integrations/importing-from-outlook).

Feedback

For messages sent to a DigiParser inbox address, use [Configure Email Processing](/docs/guides/parsers/parser-settings/email-processing) to restrict senders, limit attachment types, or process an email body without an attachment. If an email does not appear, use [Troubleshoot Email Imports](/docs/guides/troubleshooting/email-import-problems).

Feedback

Email bodies and attachments use credits separately. See [How Credits Are Calculated](/docs/guides/troubleshooting/credits-and-billing#email-bodies) when estimating the cost of a long email conversation.
