Exporting Data
Export your extracted data
Exporting Data
You can export your extracted data as a file (CSV, Excel, or JSON) or send it to other tools via Integrations (e.g. Google Sheets, Xero, Zapier, email). This page covers file export. For automatic export to those tools, set up Settings → Integrations.
Where to export
- From the data table – Click Export Data above the table. A dialog lets you choose Format, What to export, and (when available) Date range. Click Download Data to export.
- From a single document – Open the document, click More (⋮), then Export data or Download data as CSV.
- Bulk export – Select rows in the data table with the checkboxes, then Bulk Actions → Export Selected. Only the selected documents are exported.
Export format
Choose one of:
- XLSX – Excel spreadsheet. Good for reports and further editing in Excel or Google Sheets.
- CSV – Comma-separated values. Opens in Excel, Sheets, and many other tools.
- JSON – Structured data format. Useful if you're connecting to other systems or need a structured data format.
What to export
You can export:
- All Fields – Only document-level fields (e.g. Invoice Number, Total). No table data like line items.
- All Fields and Tables (Flatten) – All fields and tables in one flat structure (CSV/XLSX). For JSON, this is All Fields and Tables (Nested).
- All Fields and Tables (XLSX only) – Same data, but each table gets its own sheet in the Excel file.
- Table: [name] – Only a specific table (e.g. “Line Items”). Use this when you only need that table.
Pick what matches how you’ll use the file—e.g. one sheet vs. multiple sheets, or only line items.
Date range
When the Date range option is available, you can limit the export to documents from a certain period:
- Presets like All Time, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 3 Months, or Last Year.
- Custom – Choose from and to dates yourself.
Export uses the filtered data you see. If you’ve applied Filters (e.g. status, folder) or Search, only the matching rows are exported—unless you use Export Selected for specific rows.
After you export
The file downloads to your device. Open it in Excel, Google Sheets, or any app that supports CSV/XLSX/JSON.
To automatically send data to Google Sheets, Xero, Zapier, webhooks, or email, configure that in Settings → Integrations. See Integrations.
Tips
- Use Filters and Search before exporting so you only export what you need.
- Use Export Selected when you want to export just a few documents.
- All Fields and Tables (XLSX) with separate sheets works well when you have multiple tables (e.g. line items, tax breakdown) and want each in its own sheet.
